Puerto Morelos, located 22 mile (36 Km) from Cancun, is the departure
point for the cargo and car ferry to Cozumel. Although it is a small
fishing village, it has an international atmosphere, derived from
the many retired foreigners who have settled there.
It has a few "Five Star" hotels, as well as some budget
accommodations. The second largest barrier reef in the world begins
just off Puerto Morelos' shores, and is a true divers paradise.
